More than 510 trucks from Russia are waiting for the reopening of the Transcaucasian Highway, which was closed due to bad weather conditions yesterday. This information was provided to Interfax on Sunday by the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of North Ossetia.
According to the agency's source, heavy snowfall continues in the region. Updated data indicates that the restrictions on the Transcaucasian Highway currently apply only to large trucks.
The highway was closed on Saturday evening for all types of vehicles due to heavy snowfall in the territory of Georgia. Currently, the Transcaucasian Highway is the only land route connecting Russia not only with Georgia but also with Armenia.
