Arrests Begin in Minsk During Sunday Protest

Several individuals have been arrested during a Sunday protest titled "March of Will" taking place in Minsk, specifically in the Brilevichi and Lebyazhi residential areas. According to reports from the TASS agency, citing Belarusian sources, residents of the capital began gathering in their courtyards around noon. There have been reports of attempts to disperse these gatherings.

In addition, several OMON buses arrived in the Brilevichi neighborhood, where a line of residents was forming. As OMON officers arrived, people began to disperse in various directions, and some were arrested. OMON personnel also conducted arrests in the Lebyazhi neighborhood. It has been noted that arrests have also occurred in the Minsk suburbs.

It is worth recalling that Belarusian opposition supporters traditionally hold protests every Sunday against the results of the presidential elections held on August 9, in which the current leader Alexander Lukashenko was declared the winner. Protests are also occurring on other days of the week in Minsk as well as in a number of other Belarusian cities.
