A 37-Year-Old Russian Citizen Found Upside Down in a Canyon in Syunik Region After Accident

On December 5, an accident occurred in the Syunik region. Around 10:40 PM, a 37-year-old Russian citizen named Ashot Khachatryan lost control of his Nissan vehicle on the 371.5 km section of the Yerevan-Meghri highway, reportedly due to adverse weather conditions. The car veered off the roadway and landed upside down in a canyon.

According to reports from Shamshyan.com, both A. Khachatryan and his passenger, 23-year-old Norik Grigoryan, a resident of Meghri, sustained bodily injuries and were taken to the Meghri medical center.

Authorities from the 2nd Battalion of the Traffic Police's 2nd Police Division arrived at the scene, led by Battalion Commander Gegham Margaryan and Platoon Commander Armen Sargsyan. The senior investigator of the same division, Vahagn Kostanyan, oversaw the investigative works at the site, and materials regarding the incident are being prepared.
