What to Expect Next Week: Four Elections and a Heated Session

On December 8, the next session of the National Assembly will begin. One day prior, on December 7, a meeting of the National Assembly Council will take place, during which the agenda for the session will be approved. According to the "Zhoghovurd" newspaper, there will be 25 items on the agenda, 10 of which are mandatory for discussion.

Furthermore, the parliament will have three votes next week. First, the National Assembly members will elect the President of the Supreme Court. The only candidate is Lilit Tadevosyan, who is currently the head of the criminal chamber of the Supreme Court. The nomination will be presented in parliament by Ruben Vardazaryan, the President of the Supreme Judicial Council. The position of Supreme Court President has been vacant since Yervand Khundkaryan was elected as a member of the Constitutional Court.
