Reopening Schemes for Syunik Airport Do Not Include Use of Azerbaijani Airspace
The Civil Aviation Committee reports that the restoration works of the 'Syunik' airport in the city of Kapan, Syunik region of Armenia have been completed within the framework of the small aviation development program in Armenia.
With direct support from the Civil Aviation Committee, the 'Syunik Airport' LLC has completely renovated the airport's runway and terminal's artificial surface, constructed a new passenger complex, and installed a new perimeter fence in accordance with international standards.
In accordance with Armenian legislation and international requirements, the Civil Aviation Committee has carried out the certification process for the airport's aerodrome, resulting in the issuance of a certificate under the order No. 279-A of the Committee's president dated November 18, 2020.
It is planned to operate L-410 type aircraft with up to 19 seats at the 'Syunik' airport. It is noteworthy that the newly developed flight/landing schemes do not include the use of Azerbaijani airspace.
