Kajaran Community Demands Resignation of Prime Minister Pashinyan and Government

Leaders and council members from communities in the Syunik region have issued a call demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Pashinyan and his government. This information is reported on the Facebook page of the Kajaran municipality.

“Dear compatriots,
Armenia and Artsakh are facing calamity, the country is on the brink of disaster, and Syunik is in danger. From the first days of the war, Syunik has fought a dignified battle unitedly, both on the front lines and in the rear. Today, all communities are addressing serious issues, and there will still be opportunities to discuss them.

In these fateful days for Syunik, many questions remain unanswered and unresolved. Several matters concerning the border are disputed, and in this critical phase for the salvation of Syunik, where fateful decisions need to be made, communities continue to play the main role in ensuring security.

We have lost a significant part of Artsakh, have thousands of casualties and missing persons, and face numerous economic and humanitarian problems, the burden of which continues to rest on the shoulders of the communities and is carried out with dignity.

In this context, even the smallest issues are not being resolved at the state level, as the entire management system has been rendered inactive during these days. The enemy has reached the gates of Syunik. Our top priority at this moment is the defense of Syunik and ensuring the safety of the population. Every minute is precious and can have irreversible consequences.

In the current situation, we are increasingly convinced that it is impossible to neutralize the impending calamity with this government; therefore, we demand the resignation of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and the government. This is not a matter of political manipulation; it is a question of saving the homeland and ensuring the safety of the people of Syunik.

We understand that tomorrow may be too late; thus, at this stage, dedicated forces may be needed to act for the salvation of Syunik and to lift the country out of its disastrous state.

Therefore, we must all stand up and say no to this destructive situation.”

The demand is supported by Kajaran community leader Manvel Paramazyan, Kajaran council members: Armen Andreasian, Karen Hambardzumyan, Sasun Arakelyan, Meruzhan Atayan, Erik Saghatelyan, Garik Israelian, Derenik Stepanyan, Armen Hakobyan, Karine Makiyan, and Marina Gevorgyan, as stated in the text of the statement.
