Armenia Artsakh Foundation Secures $15 Million in Support Over Five Months
In just five months, the Armenia Artsakh Foundation has raised $15 million in support for Armenia and Artsakh. This information was provided to Armenpress by the foundation.
The announcement reads: “During the past five extremely difficult months, the Armenia Artsakh Fund has secured humanitarian assistance amounting to $15 million for Armenia and Artsakh.”
To implement this assistance, the Armenia Artsakh Fund has sourced $14.9 million worth of medications and other items from AmeriCares ($7.1 million), Direct Relief ($4.3 million), and MAP International ($3.4 million).
During this period, significant contributions have also been made by the Armenian Missionary Association of America ($330,000), the Akabe Program ($65,000), the Howard Karageozian Memorial Fund ($57,000), and Dr. Albert Phillips from California ($9,500).
The donated medications and medical supplies have been delivered to several organizations, including the Klotia Nazarayan Syrian-Armenian Refugee Medical Center, the Aleppo Armenian Relief Organization, the Arabkir United Children’s Charitable Foundation, the Armenian Missionary Association of America, the Senior Medical Center, the Armenian Relief Fund, the Great Nerses Charitable Organization, the Muratsan Medical Center for Children, the National Blood Center, St. Gregory the Illuminator Medical Center, and the Ministries of Health of Armenia and Artsakh.
In the first eleven months of 2020, the Armenia Artsakh Fund delivered urgently needed medications and medical supplies for patients infected with COVID-19, as well as emergency aid for war casualties.
In the past 31 years, the Armenia Artsakh Fund and its predecessor, the United Armenian Fund, have provided $913 million worth of humanitarian assistance to Armenia and Artsakh through 158 flights and 2,486 maritime containers.
From June to November this year, the support sent to the homeland included urgently needed medications and supplies for those infected with COVID-19 and war casualties, as well as for patients suffering from mental disorders, cancer, and cardiovascular and gastrointestinal issues.
“The Armenia Artsakh Fund regularly receives life-saving medications and medical supplies worth millions of dollars,” stated Harout Sasounian, President of the Armenia Artsakh Fund, adding, “We only need to cover the delivery costs. Therefore, we encourage your generous donations to ensure we can continue providing this vital support to all medical centers in Armenia and Artsakh.”
