Vazgen Manukyan is the Character Who Can Fulfill That Mission: This is Not a Fight for Position
“In this situation, conducting quick snap elections is simply wrong. We saw what we had under the euphoria of the elections, and having that experience, we must understand that it is time to organize elections in a more calm environment,” said former President Robert Kocharian in an interview with Channel 5.
According to Kocharian, the current government is no longer legitimate, and this parliament no longer reflects the public's opinion. “It takes a year to organize elections in a rational atmosphere in a calm state.”
The former president welcomed the decision to appoint Vazgen Manukyan as the prime minister of the interim government. “Vazgen Manukyan is the character who can fulfill that mission. This is not a fight for position; I do not envy anyone who has to join that transitional government during this year, especially Vazgen Manukyan.”
