Two Journalists from Russian NTV Arrested in Turkey
Two journalists from the Russian NTV television network, Alexey Petrushko and Ivan Malishkin, have been arrested near Istanbul, Turkey, where they were filming in the territory of the Turkish drone manufacturer Baykar. They are accused of conducting filming without permission.
According to a report by Armenpress, this information was shared by YeniŞafak news outlet, citing sources from the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The executives of NTV, which broadcasts in Russia, claim that their two employees were taken into custody by police in Istanbul, and no news has been received from them since December 3.
"They were arrested in an area near Istanbul where Baykar Savunma is located," said an employee of the company. According to Russian sources, Petrushko and Malishkin are not in the Istanbul police or the city’s migration office. It is possible that they were detained by personnel from Turkey's national intelligence agency.
The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Russian Consulate General in Turkey are examining the situation and searching for the journalists.
