The Prime Minister and His Government Must Resign: Statement by Armenian Diplomats
Dear compatriots,
The hasty and shortsighted foreign policy of the current authorities of the Republic of Armenia has placed our country in front of serious challenges. The strategic high-level relations developed over decades with the Russian Federation, the close partnership with Iran, China, the multilayered relations with the United States, and European Union countries, and other foreign policy directions were not duly emphasized. The direct consequence of this was the unprecedented capitulatory statement signed on November 9 of this year. This document contains numerous uncertainties regarding the legal status of the Republic of Artsakh, territorial issues, the unblocking of communication routes, the exchange of prisoners of war, hostages, other detained persons, and the bodies of the deceased, as well as the return of displaced persons and refugees.
Armenian diplomacy faces a daunting task in conducting the upcoming negotiation process at the proper level. We have a historic opportunity to prove through consistent work that the Armenian diplomat is worthy of the heroic examples displayed by our soldiers and officers on the battlefield.
However, this is only possible in the case of the resignation of the failed Prime Minister and his government. It is essential to form a legitimate political authority that enjoys public trust and that will be guided by a foreign policy based on a deep understanding of national-state interests. We must take action promptly and consistently to bring the Republic of Armenia and Artsakh out of this dire situation. The policy of capitulation and national humiliation has no future.
