Our people did not lose, our Prime Minister lost in this war. Robert Kocharyan

The lie that was presented to our people every day during the war created such a rift in perceptions about the war in Artsakh, Armenia, and along the front line that it effectively undermined our army. This was stated by the second President of Armenia, Robert Kocharyan, in an interview with "5th Channel" on December 4.

“When a soldier at the front sees what is happening, and the soldier's parents believe that we have taken Getashen, Shahumyan, and that soon we will reach the banks of the Kura River, this leads to a situation where the soldier at the front does not understand what is happening. After such a barrage of lies, people stop trusting the state. They wonder what is happening, whether we are part of a big game, and who we really are, while for the soldier, the representative of the state is the officer. And distrust of the state immediately turns into distrust of that officer. There were numerous cases where soldiers did not obey their commanders, especially those from the mobilization resource, and such incidents were common on the internet. I do not remember such cases during the years 1992-1994, when people refused to go to their positions. I am convinced that the reason for this is that lie. That lie was not fabricated in the army; it was concocted in a well-known state structure, in that agency that promotes misinformation, and you know who that agency is subjected to. All the reasons I mention are not born in the army; they are the result of political power's mistakes. Therefore, our people did not lose; our Prime Minister lost in this war. Our government and that political team lost because their actions led to such consequences,” said Kocharyan.
