ICRC Resources in Artsakh to Increase, Humanitarian Aid Distribution to Continue
The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is providing aid to residents affected by the war in Artsakh within its capabilities. As of December 4, the ICRC has transferred 4,350 food parcels, 17,220 hygiene kits, 13,500 blankets, and 1,400 kitchen sets to the leadership of Artsakh.
In an interview with ArmPress, Ethery Musayelyan, the spokesperson for the ICRC mission in Artsakh, stated, “The ICRC has been trying to provide as much humanitarian assistance as possible to the affected population during the ongoing military operations. We have been regularly supplying food and hygiene products to the Stepanakert city hall so that they can distribute these to the residents who were in shelters during the military operations. We have also provided medical supplies to healthcare facilities to enable medical staff to assist the wounded in a timely manner.”
Musayelyan noted that after the signing of the declaration regarding the ceasefire in the war, the ICRC’s capabilities have increased because they can assess the situation and understand the consequences of the war. The ICRC is in dialogue with the relevant authorities of Artsakh on this matter. “Our resources have increased, and they will continue to increase; we will try to help the affected population as much as possible within the scope of our mandate,” Musayelyan concluded.
