Sergey Lavrov to Meet with Armenia's Newly Appointed Foreign Minister
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov will meet with Armenia's Foreign Minister Ara Aivazyan on December 7 in Moscow to discuss the implementation of agreements reached within the framework of the trilateral statement regarding Nagorno-Karabakh. This was announced by Maria Zakharova, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, during a weekly briefing.
“In accordance with the earlier reached agreements, on December 7 the head of the Armenian foreign policy department will be on a working visit to Moscow. During the negotiations at the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the ministers will discuss issues related to international and regional problems, as well as complex matters concerning bilateral relations. Undoubtedly, the main focus will be on the statement made by the leaders of Russia, Azerbaijan, and Armenia on November 9, which emphasizes humanitarian assistance, infrastructure restoration, and the unblocking of transport corridors,” Zakharova noted.
The ministers will also discuss the cooperation between the two countries in the Eurasian Economic Union, CIS, CSTO, UN, OSCE, Council of Europe, and other international organizations regarding the coordination of positions.
