Number of Syrian Mercenaries Killed in Azerbaijan Exceeds Those in Libya, SOHR
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR), citing several militants who recently returned to Syria from Nagorno-Karabakh, has published new data regarding the Syrian mercenaries fighting in Azerbaijan.
According to the center, the returnees received varying amounts of payments. Some were given $3,500 and 600 Turkish lira, while another group received $1,000 and 1,000 lira. Some have even been paid twice, amounting to a total of 5,000 Turkish lira. As a result, all the mercenaries indicated that they had not received the full amount.
The Syrian center also reported that the number of Syrian mercenaries killed in Artsakh exceeds those killed in Libya. According to the center's data, 541 pro-Turkish Syrian mercenaries have been killed in Azerbaijan. In contrast, the number of those killed in Libya stands at 468.
The observatory reported that the bodies of 340 of them have been transferred from Azerbaijan to Syria. It is noted that 825 militants from pro-Turkish forces are still present in Azerbaijani territory. In total, 2,580 Syrian mercenaries have been transferred to Azerbaijan with the support of the Turkish government.
It is worth mentioning that, according to earlier information received from the Syrian center, 900 Syrian militants have returned to their homeland.
