New Prosthetics Laboratory to be Established at Homeland Defender Rehabilitation Center

The Homeland Defender Rehabilitation Center will soon feature a state-of-the-art German-Dutch laboratory dedicated to walking aids and prosthetics, aimed at restoring the health of brave heroes who have risked their lives for their homeland.

Currently, 120 soldiers are receiving treatment at the center. This joint initiative has been realized within the framework of the fundraising campaign “We Are, Our Borders” by the Armenian community in the Netherlands and in collaboration with the Armenia Fund.

“This will be the first laboratory of its kind in Armenia. It will enable us to provide cutting-edge prosthetics that not only maximize the functional capabilities of each patient but also help avoid future complications and surgeries. We are grateful to all Armenians who contributed to the implementation of this vital project through the Armenia Fund,” said Haykohi Minasian, the director of the Homeland Defender Rehabilitation Center.

The new laboratory will provide functional prosthetics for both upper and lower limbs. The 360-degree 3D gait analysis lab will enhance the center’s capabilities, providing a thorough analysis of patients' specific needs, while the prosthetic laboratory will create modern prostheses tailored to each patient. This program will also include a training component, enabling Armenian doctors and prosthetic specialists to participate in European training programs to improve the care provided to rehabilitation center patients.

The treatment and care of our injured youth is of paramount importance to the Foundation and the Armenian nation. This is the first project among many initiatives being developed to honor the selfless service of our soldiers injured in the defense of the homeland and to meet their physical needs. A number of additional programs are also being devised to support not only the protectors of the homeland but also their families.

It is our duty as Armenians living in various corners of the world to express our gratitude to our brave compatriots for their selfless service. The Foundation will continue to support them so that the consequences of war do not lead to a decline in their quality of life.
