We Have Been Able to Identify Nearly 60 Prisoners of War from Videos: Artak Beglaryan
We are continually updating our lists of prisoners based on the published videos and other evidence presented by their relatives, wrote Artak Beglaryan, the Human Rights Defender of Artsakh, on his Facebook page.
“From the videos found by the office of the Human Rights Defender of Artsakh, we have already been able to identify nearly 60 prisoners of war, of which only a small portion’s identities we have yet to determine. Not to mention the information collected based on testimonies, calls, and other evidences.
We are also conducting separate fact-finding activities regarding the civil individuals who have been displaced or forcibly disappeared, with their number reaching around 40. All collected information is regularly passed on to state and international authorities, hoping for effective measures in the direction of protecting the rights and ensuring the return of the prisoners.
We have special cooperation with the Human Rights Defender of Armenia and individual lawyers regarding data exchange and other relevant processes,” wrote Beglaryan.
It is noteworthy that Nikol Pashinyan signed a trilateral statement on November 10, transferring seven regions of Artsakh, Shushi, and Hadrut to Azerbaijan, with the exception of one village and villages from the Askeran and Martuni regions, as well as Talysh and Mataghis villages from the Martakert region.
According to this statement, a Russian peacekeeping contingent is being deployed along the contact line in Nagorno-Karabakh and along the Lachin corridor, including 1,960 armed servicemen, 90 armored vehicles, and 380 units of automotive and special equipment. The deployment of Russian peacekeepers in Artsakh has already been completed.
According to the military department, more than 27,000 citizens have relocated to their permanent residences in Nagorno-Karabakh.
