Rescue Teams Conducting Recovery Operations for Fallen Soldiers' Bodies in Hadrut Region

The State Emergency Situations Service of Artsakh is conducting recovery operations for the bodies of fallen soldiers in the Hadrut region. Operations have not yet been carried out in the areas adjacent to Zangelan, Fizuli, Jabrayil, and south of Hadrut, as negotiations are ongoing between the International Committee of the Red Cross and the Azerbaijani side.

In a conversation with Armenpress, Hunan Tadevosyan, an officer in the information and public relations department of the Artsakh State Emergency Situations Service, stated, “As of today, a total of 655 bodies have been found and handed over to their parents. The work has continued in the Hadrut region as of December 1, but rescuers have not yet entered the city of Hadrut. Nineteen bodies have been discovered in that area. The recovery operations are currently ongoing in the vicinity of Hadrut.”

According to the emergency services representative, rescuers have not yet reached the areas of Zangelan, Fizuli, Jabrayil, and south of Hadrut. However, there has been positive movement in the negotiations between the International Committee of the Red Cross and the Azerbaijani side over the past two to three days. “We have the capability to carry out recovery operations; the issue lies with the negotiating side. The Azerbaijani side had not allowed recovery operations to be executed, but now permission has been granted. The negotiations are ongoing, and we are carrying out our work,” Tadevosyan added.
