No New Year Decorations in Yerevan This Year, Says Mayor's Spokesman

No New Year tree will be installed at Republic Square in Yerevan this year. This was stated by Hakob Karapetyan, the spokesman for the Yerevan Mayor, in an interview with Armenpress.

“This year there will be no tree installed in the square. The Yerevan city hall has also decided that there will be no New Year decorations in the capital,” said Karapetyan.

On November 24, the council decided to redirect the 100 million dram allocated for New Year events to Stepanakert for the implementation of capital works. The funds will be allocated for the restoration and capital work of civilian infrastructure and facilities damaged due to targeting by Azerbaijan.
