Gathering Organization and Conduct Ban Lifted: Government Decision
The government has published a decision amending its decision from September 27. According to the decision, the ban on organizing and conducting gatherings under the martial law is lifted.
“Based on the first part of Article 17 of the Law on the Legal Regime of Martial Law and Article 34 of the Law on Normative Legal Acts, the Government of the Republic of Armenia decides:
- The 3rd and 4th chapters of the annex to the Government’s decision No. 1586-N of September 27, 2020, declaring martial law in the Republic of Armenia, as well as point 15, are revoked.
- This decision shall enter into force immediately after publication.”
It is noteworthy that earlier, the head of the government staff, Edward Aghajanyan, announced that by the Government decision No. 1917-N of December 2, 2020, the bans on organizing and conducting gatherings and strikes, as well as participation in them, which were applied under the martial law declared in the Republic from September 27, 2020, were removed, along with the special regime for entering and exiting the territory of the Republic and all restrictions on publications and reports.
