Full and Fair Implementation of the Right to Self-Determination of Artsakh Remains a Priority for Armenia
On December 2, Armenian Foreign Minister Ara Ayvazyan had a phone conversation with Italian Foreign Minister Luigi Di Maio. This was reported by the Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Accepting congratulations from his Italian counterpart on his appointment as Foreign Minister of Armenia, Ayvazyan expressed hope that both sides would make efforts to enrich and enhance the effectiveness of the Armenian-Italian bilateral agenda.
The two officials discussed the situation created as a result of Azerbaijani aggression against Artsakh and regional developments.
The Armenian Foreign Minister strongly condemned the inhumane and humiliating treatment of individuals held captive by Azerbaijan.
Referring to Turkey's expansionist aspirations and destabilizing policies in neighboring regions, Ayvazyan noted that Turkey had played a direct role in the war unleashed against Artsakh and Armenia, both through its unconditional military-political support to Azerbaijan and by transporting foreign militant terrorists from the Middle East to the region.
In the context of conflict resolution, Ayvazyan reiterated that the full and fair realization of the rights of the people of Artsakh, including their right to self-determination, remains a priority for Armenia.
Both sides emphasized that issues of peaceful resolution should be addressed exclusively within the framework of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairmanship.
