ECHR Revises Interim Measures Against Turkey Issued on October 6 and Lifts the Measures

Based on the joint statement signed on November 9, 2020, by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia, the President of the Russian Federation, and the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan regarding the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, the Republic of Turkey filed a request with the European Court of Human Rights on November 17 to revoke the interim measures imposed against it.

On December 1, the European Court, relying on the aforementioned statement, revisited the decision to apply interim measures in the case of Armenia against Turkey from October 6, 2020, and subsequently lifted the interim measures against Turkey. This was reported by the representative of Armenia at the ECHR.

At the same time, the ECHR reaffirmed that the interim measures applied against Azerbaijan remain in force.
