More than 23,000 People Have Returned to Artsakh, Russian Defense Ministry
On November 29, Russian peacekeepers escorted a convoy of buses carrying residents of Artsakh from the territory of the Republic of Armenia to Nagorno-Karabakh, reports the Russian Defense Ministry's website.
It was noted that the day before, 1,699 people had been transferred from Yerevan to Stepanakert by bus. The convoy's movement was conducted under the escort of the Russian peacekeeping contingent and military police.
"Russian servicemen ensured the safety of the buses passing through the contact line to accompany civilians to their homes in Stepanakert," the statement said.
In total, more than 23,000 people have returned to Nagorno-Karabakh.
It is important to recall that on November 10, Nikol Pashinyan signed a trilateral statement, transferring seven regions of Artsakh, as well as Shushi and Hadrut, to Azerbaijan, except for one village, and villages from the Askeran and Martuni regions, as well as Talish and Mataghis villages from the Martakert region.
According to that statement, the Russian Federation's peacekeeping force has been deployed along the contact line and the Lachin corridor, consisting of 1,960 servicemen armed with small arms, 90 armored vehicles, and 380 units of automotive and special equipment. The deployment of Russian peacekeepers in Artsakh has already been completed.
