Economy Minister Comments on Opening Armenia's Market to Azerbaijan
"I said that the roads will open, we will modernize our economy, and one day the roads may open. You have taken only the last part out of context." This was stated by the new Minister of Economy Vahan Kerobyan during a conversation with journalists in the National Assembly today, referring to his interview with "First Channel," where he mentioned, "Perhaps the Azerbaijani market will also open for us, and our market for Azerbaijan."
In response to the remark that on one hand they reject Turkish products, while on the other hand the Minister makes such statements, Kerobyan replied: "Please, do not manipulate this. I sincerely apologize, I respect the profession of journalism, but I do not spend time responding to manipulative and meaningless discussions."
When asked about his previous role as a manager in a supermarket chain that went bankrupt and how he would succeed in his ministerial position now, he stated: "I have no obligations before the law, and we will close this topic here. This happened about a year and a half after I left my job. I did not cause that."
