Russian EMERCOM Assists in Restoring a School in Askeran

The Ivanyan Community School named after Onik Grigoryan in the Askeran region of Artsakh, which was damaged during the war, is being restored thanks to Russia's EMERCOM. This was reported by the Russian EMERCOM website.

Russian rescuers, along with representatives of the Ivanyan municipal government, have restored the school's windows and heating system. Currently, finishing work is being carried out at the school, water supply is being reinstated, and furniture is being installed. Students will start attending the school from December 1. The school has 200 students.

EMERCOM rescue workers continue to provide building materials to affected residents. The working group is studying the use of humanitarian aid materials and is obtaining information from local municipal governments about the additional assistance needs of the population and the restoration of social infrastructure.

The organization of a long-term camp for the working group, as well as the placement and inspection of military and other equipment, has already been completed. Drivers receive daily information about road safety, undergo medical examinations, and have at least 8 hours of rest daily. A medical center has also been established at the camp, equipped with all necessary medicines for providing first aid and outpatient services.

It is noteworthy that thanks to the Russian peacekeeping contingent, public transport operations have already been restored in Stepanakert, active demining work is being carried out, and more than 23,000 refugees have returned to Artsakh.
