The Russian ambassador to the US, Anatoly Antonov, may participate in the US presidential inauguration in January 2021, but there is no official representation from the countries for this event. This was announced to reporters by the press secretary of the Russian President, Dmitry Peskov, according to TASS.
Specifically, Peskov noted that "foreign leaders are not invited to this ceremony." He added, "Sometimes someone is personally invited to the inauguration, but foreign leaders are not invited." He emphasized that "the ambassador can certainly go," commenting on the fact that the head of the Russian diplomatic mission attended the US presidential inauguration four years ago.
