Israeli Prime Minister Refuses to Comment on the Assassination of Iran's Nuclear Program Chief Scientist

Mohsen Fakhrizadeh, the head of Iran's Organization for Research and Innovation affiliated with the Ministry of Defense, has been assassinated. Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif stated that Israel is directly involved in this assassination.

In 2018, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu mentioned the physicist's name at a press conference regarding Iran's nuclear capabilities, calling him the "father" of the country's nuclear program.

Netanyahu's office has refused to comment on the assassination of the Iranian nuclear physicist and chief expert of the nuclear program, Mohsen Fakhrizadeh, according to almasdarnews.com. A representative from Netanyahu's office informed the reputable Reuters agency that the office is avoiding any comment regarding the incident.

It is known that two years prior to this incident, Netanyahu had stated that the scientist was leading Iran's efforts to develop its nuclear arsenal.

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani has blamed Israel for the assassination of Iranian nuclear physicist Mohsen Fakhrizadeh, stating that this crime will not slow down the development of the country’s nuclear industry. Reuters reports this.

“Once again, the global arrogance's Zionist hand is stained with blood. The assassination of martyr Fakhrizadeh demonstrates the desperation and depth of hatred of our enemies... His martyrdom will not stop our achievements,” said Rouhani in a televised speech.
