Arthur Vanetsyan on His Days in Isolation: 'Haykakan Zham'

According to the newspaper 'Haykakan Zham', on November 14, the National Security Service (NSS) arrested a group of individuals, including Arthur Vanetsyan, accusing them of planning an assassination attempt against Nikol Pashinyan. The following day, the court deemed these arrests unlawful and subsequently denied the request for detention. However, the detainees were held for 1-2 days in the detention facility.

Vanetsyan was kept at the Erebuni detention facility, remaining in custody for just 2 days. In response to our question about how he occupied his time in isolation, Vanetsyan stated that he read newspapers and requested a book, which turned out to be George Orwell's famous 'Animal Farm.' He noted that the plot closely parallels the revolution led by Nikol Pashinyan and subsequent events in the country.

"I had read 'Animal Farm' several times before, but in that situation, the perception was completely different," said the former head of the NSS.
