ICRC Denies MP's Statement on Prisoner Exchange

The ICRC's Armenian office did not participate in the process of exchanging prisoners between Armenia and Azerbaijan yesterday, said press officer Zara Amatuni in an interview with Sputnik Armenia.

“To date, thanks to the efforts of the Red Cross, an elderly woman and one citizen's body have been transferred to the Armenian side. No other prisoner exchange process has taken place,” Amatuni stated.

She also refuted the statement made today by MP Nazeli Baghdasaryan from the 'My Step' faction that a prisoner exchange took place yesterday.

It should be noted that only the International Committee of the Red Cross is involved in the issue of prisoners returning to their homeland in the region.
