We Will Present a Draft Calling for the Resignation of the Capitulating Prime Minister Who Has Governed Ineffectively, Failingly, and Foolishly: Khachakyan

David Khachakyan, the leader of the 'Light' faction in the Yerevan City Council, delivered a speech during the session addressing the events occurring in the country.

Khachakyan noted that the members of the Yerevan City Council must express their stance on the current situation in the country, regarding the authorities and the Prime Minister, who he stated has brought the country to 'a state of emergency.' He emphasized that everyone should bear their share of responsibility for this, and there are legal mechanisms to hold them accountable.

"One of those mechanisms is the provision set forth in Article 22 of the Law on Local Self-Governance in Yerevan, which allows the council to adopt messages, statements, etc., regarding issues related to Yerevan's interests but outside its jurisdiction. We will be presenting a draft of a council message that will require the Yerevan Council, as a collective body, to address the government and the Prime Minister, pending a relevant vote," Khachakyan stated, adding that the message will call for the Prime Minister's resignation.
