Our Foreign Policy Will Be Adaptability: Political Scientist Suren Sargsyan
WRed
As a result of the government's errors, we will soon confront the following harsh realities. This was noted by Americanist Suren Sargsyan:
- Our foreign policy priority will exclusively become the security factor, and everything will revolve around and be built around this.
- There will be a decline of Armenia as an international legal entity and an independent player from 'few to many.'
- We can no longer position ourselves as a state with the most combat-ready army in the region, and this is not just ensuring the security of one or two other Armenian states.
- Armenia is no longer the guarantor of security for Artsakh, which implies a change in the complex security balance in the region.
- Armenia is no longer even its own security guarantor.
- Armenia will no longer be viewed as a state that has fought and won against more powerful adversaries.
- We will no longer have a diversified, balanced, or complementary foreign policy.
- Our foreign policy will be 'adaptability.' We will adapt to the established geopolitical and regional realities.
Is there a possibility to mitigate the consequences of this catastrophe? I believe there is still a chance. However, the removal of the current government down to the last 'branch chief' is a prerequisite for that chance.
