Armenia's Martuni District Administrator Awarded Highest Title of 'Hero of Artsakh'
The President of Artsakh, Araik Harutyunyan, has informed via his Facebook page that the head of the Martuni district administration, Ararat Melkumyan, has been awarded the highest title of 'Hero of Artsakh'. In the post, it states: “Dear compatriots, I have made the decision to award Ararat Mikayeli Melkumyan, the head of the Martuni district administration, the title of 'Hero of Artsakh' for his exceptional services to the Republic of Artsakh in the defense of the homeland and ensuring security, as well as for his bravery and personal courage.
Ararat Melkumyan’s exemplary character as a soldier was revealed during the First Nagorno-Karabakh War and throughout his professional service. During the four-day war in 2016, his selfless actions were highly valued by the homeland, earning him the 'Combat Cross' of the first degree. Moreover, what he accomplished during the Azerbaijani-aggressed war beginning on September 27 was not only an act of heroism but also a lesson for future generations—to never surrender.
