Maria Zakharova: 'Dramaturgy'. Why the Russian flag was absent during the Pashinyan-Lavrov meeting

As previously reported, today, officials from Russia arrived in Armenia, led by Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu and Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov. They have already been received by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.

Moments ago, Maria Zakharova, the spokesperson for the Russian Foreign Minister, shared a photo from the Lavrov-Pashinyan meeting on her Facebook page, captioning it with the word 'Dramaturgy'. The post has garnered numerous comments questioning why the Russian flag was absent during the meeting.

According to the spokesperson for the Armenian Prime Minister, Mane Gevorgyan, there was no protocol error: 'If the President or Prime Minister of Russia were to meet with the Prime Minister, then the flag would be displayed. However, in the case of a lower-ranking official, it is not displayed.'
