What Damages Did the National Assembly Suffer During the Incident? - 'Joxovrd'

'Joxovrd' newspaper reports. 'The investigative body has begun to examine and catalog the damages incurred by the parliament during the events that took place on the night of November 9 to 10. It should be noted that on that day, following the joint statement of the leaders of Armenia, Russia, and Azerbaijan, a large number of people gathered in front of the government and the parliament, entering the premises of the institutions and causing destruction and damage in the National Assembly buildings. Already, there are individuals who have been detained, arrested, and remanded in custody in connection with these actions.

As is known, on that day, almost all deputies' offices were ransacked, and even some items were reportedly taken. The Secretary of the Prosperous Armenia Party faction, Arman Abovyan, also announced that a laptop had been stolen from his office. However, at the same time, 'Joxovrd' noted that all laptops of the deputies in the National Assembly session hall were left untouched, although they were quite small and convenient for stealing.

Joxovrd attempted to clarify with Tigran Galstyan, the head of the National Assembly staff, what damages occurred on that day and how many laptops were stolen. 'That falls within the purview of the pre-trial investigation. I believe it is incorrect to disclose such data at this time. However, in all places that were accessed, there were both losses and damaged property,' he stated, declining to provide specific details.

It should be reminded that the investigation into these events is ongoing, and a criminal case has been initiated under Articles 225, Parts 1, 2, and 4, Article 301, and Article 301.1, Part 1 of the Criminal Code of Armenia. Criminal proceedings have been initiated against about forty participants or organizers of the mass disturbances, of whom currently preventive measures have been taken against 10 individuals, 5 have been arrested, while other individuals have been subjected to non-custodial preventive measures.
