The elderly Armenian man, who is tortured in the well-known video, symbolizes our defeat in this war and the collapse of the Third Republic of Armenia. This was stated by political scientist Edgar Elbakyan on his Facebook page.

“Do you know who that elderly man, ridiculed and tortured in the famous video, is? He is my neighbor from Shushi. This man was also tortured in Sumgait in 1988. At the last minute, they only noticed in the morgue that he was alive and did not dissect him. However, apart from the national tragedy, there is also a motive of social inequality that has gnawed at the foundations of this state for years. The fact is that the elderly man's brother has been one of the high-ranking officials in Artsakh since the war years, and for some reason, despite the obvious mental health issues of the elderly man, he lived alone on the first floor of our building in a dilapidated house, and sitting on the entrance chair was his only form of entertainment.
