Manvel Grigoryan to be Buried in Yerablur
The funeral service for former MP, former president of the Yerkrapah Volunteer Union, and Hero of Artsakh, Lieutenant General Manvel Grigoryan, will take place at his home in Ejmiadzin today at 18:00, with the burial set for November 21 at 15:00 in the Yerablur military pantheon.
This information was provided to NEWS.am by Mesrop Manukyan, Grigoryan's former assistant. It is noted that he had been in extremely critical condition in recent days. Following the onset of the war, he contracted COVID-19 during a week spent in Artsakh, after which his health deteriorated sharply, leading to his transfer to Yerevan. His lawyer reported that although his condition had improved temporarily, it worsened again after the well-known trilateral statement.
Grigoryan had long suffered from health issues, with court hearings regarding the charges against him being delayed for about a year and a half due to his condition. Emergency services regularly responded to him during court sessions. Months ago, he spent a significant time in intensive care due to his serious state. It was only after this that the court decided to release him from custody due to approximately 30 illnesses that were incompatible with detention.
Manvel Grigoryan participated in the Artsakh Liberation War, taking part in defensive battles along the southern borders of the Republic of Artsakh, combat operations in the Martakert region, and leading the liberation operation in the village of Hoghner in the Hadrut region.
