Iran to Investigate Presence of Missing Armenian Soldiers
Iran will investigate the reports regarding the presence of Armenian soldiers, according to the Iranian embassy in Armenia.
“We express our condolences to the families of the victims and the missing from the recent war and inform that the embassy is also addressing the unconfirmed news regarding the presence of several Armenian soldiers in the territory of the Islamic Republic of Iran,” the embassy stated in a release.
At this moment, the embassy cannot confirm the news, but the results of the ongoing investigations will be announced at the earliest opportunity. While expressing their sympathy to the families of the mentioned servicemen, the embassy requests that they refrain from directly contacting the embassy and pursue the matter through the relevant bodies of the Armenian government.
It should be noted that information circulated on social networks suggesting that around 80 Armenian soldiers crossed into Iranian territory during the war. Following this, the families of the servicemen have begun gathering in front of the Iranian embassy to seek information.
