This is not treachery, it is illiteracy and a lack of understanding of the art of war and leadership – Former Chief of General Staff

I demanded justification from the Prime Minister for my removal from the position of Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces. This was stated today, November 19, by the former head of the RA Ministry of Defense’s Military Supervision Service, Movses Hakobyan, during a conversation with journalists.

“The justification took 5 days. I received the justification, which I will not disclose now; it satisfied me, and I said, you have the right to issue the order; I will not contest it. I also proposed an official who could replace me and was prepared to stand next to him,” he said.

“I did not expect the Prime Minister to consult with me, but in a government session, he said that he would consult with me and appoint. However, we did not have such a conversation between us. When I found out who was appointed, I said, you have appointed the most unprepared general as the Chief of the General Staff – Artak Davtyan,” he added, noting that he would have proposed the person who currently heads the General Staff.

“Since that day, the process of disbanding the army has begun. This is not treachery; it is illiteracy and a lack of mastery of the art of war and leadership. I am speaking about this now because I have presented the existing issues in writing,” he stated.
