"That night they were supposed to kill us, that was the plan". Alen Simonyan shares details
Vice Speaker of the National Assembly Alen Simonyan has made a post on his Facebook page: "Dear friends, I wanted to make this post a long time ago, but realizing the heightened emotions of both myself and our people, I postponed it. Even now, I am not ready to talk about the tragedy that occurred. There are many things to say, but in due course, at the right time.
These days, the internet is flooded with a massive wave of lies and manipulations. Thus, I want to share a few pieces of information with you. A mentally ill, despicable coward, who mocked Armenians living in Russia when our compatriots were going to buy apricots to support our merchants, decided to organize a vendetta against me in Moscow. And the saddest part is that reputable Armenian media outlets joined in spreading this call to ensure that no one would overlook the announcement of the vendetta. I leave the assessment to you.
To disappoint all of them, I was indeed in a business trip in the Russian Federation from November 5-11 in Moscow, where I had numerous meetings with my colleagues from the State Duma, representatives of the Federation Council, clergy, political scientists, and various representatives of the Armenian community. I had no clashes whatsoever. After completing my business trip, having received numerous invitations from friends to stay at their homes, I declined and returned to Armenia one day later, on November 13.
That fateful night, I truly feared for the future of my country and my family. Because I am convinced that what happened with Ararat Mirzoyan in the government building, in the Parliament building, in the government residence, was pre-planned. That night, a group of 50 people moved towards my house, looking for me, and coincidentally encountered my wife and my 5-year-old daughter's grandmother in our yard. They were supposed to kill us that night; that was the plan.
The next absurd lie is that I allegedly lead an army of bots. Those who spread such things measure others by their own standards, thinking that if they were in the position, they would have an army of bots and would lead it. That is the metric of their mindset and success. I work with MPs, ministers, television channels, and journalists, and do not attribute your petty dreams to me. When I want to say something, I say it directly to your face, and you know that well.
And to the hyenas that smell blood, gathering around to assert themselves and take revenge on the fallen, let me say: you are in a hurry; your time will not come. We fought with dignity and lost, we fell but did not kneel. We are wounded but not dead.
Finally, I want to apologize to all of our compatriots who are genuinely angry, to the Armenian person, wherever they may be, for perhaps not doing something in a certain way, for disappointing in some aspect. I want to say that I accept your right to be angry, and I regret not meeting some expectations regarding this issue. The hell we have been through is truly beyond human strength.
I also want you to know that I have died with every dying one, I have cried with every one of your tears, and I bow before all our martyrs.
Long live the Armenian people, long live Artsakh, long live Armenia, and may God assist us all!"
