Ms. Anna Was Asked to Leave, and 4 Hours Later I Was Called to Yerevan and Informed That the Prime Minister Prohibits Travelling to Artsakh: Movses Hakobyan

During my time in Artsakh, my primary function was to neutralize the entry of non-military personnel into the command point. This was stated by the former head of the Ministry of Defense's military supervisory service, General Movses Hakobyan, during a meeting with journalists.

He detailed the issue that arose with Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's wife, Anna Hakobyan, which had recently been reported in the press. 'During the meeting, General Harutyunyan asked the Prime Minister to allow me to stay there. The Prime Minister's response was as follows: only her, I allow. Since the entry of outsiders into the command point was prohibited, I went up for lunch, and after coming down, I saw Ms. Anna sitting in front of the screen, where combat actions could be observed, with Samvel Babayan standing next to her,' he noted.

According to Hakobyan, the Prime Minister's wife was observing the situation but did not interfere in any matters, give instructions, or involve herself at all. 'She was observing what was happening on the battlefield. When that was over, I approached Ms. Anna and requested her to leave, explaining that there wouldn’t be any notable sights, and since fighting was ongoing in other directions, it would be advisable for her to go, as the soldiers are talking, shouting, and possibly cursing, which may embarrass them. She said okay. She sat for about 20 minutes and then left,' Hakobyan recalled, noting that 4 hours after that, he was summoned to Yerevan.

'I came to the Minister of Defense, thinking that they would ask about the situation there. He told me that he had been ordered not to let me go there any longer. I asked what the reason was, and he said he didn’t know, and it was the Prime Minister who said it,' Hakobyan stated, adding that he wrote a letter to the Prime Minister: 'I cannot stay here; send me to Artsakh, my heart is bursting.' However, the letter was never opened.
