Armenian Minister of Defense Meets with Russian Ambassador in Armenia

On November 19, Armenian Minister of Defense David Tonoyan met with Sergey Kopirkin, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation in Armenia.

David Tonoyan highly appreciated the role and efforts of the Russian Federation in stabilizing the geopolitical situation in the region, as well as the progress and effectiveness of the Russian peacekeeping mission in Artsakh.

The parties emphasized the importance of the work carried out under the coordination of the Russian peacekeeping forces and the International Committee of the Red Cross for the identification and exchange of deceased servicemen, captives, and missing persons.

Armenian Minister of Defense David Tonoyan once again expressed his condolences to the Russian ambassador regarding the death of Russian servicemen as a result of the downing of a Mi-24 helicopter on the territory of Armenia and conveyed to Sergey Kopirkin the presidential decrees and awards for posthumously honoring Major Yuri Ishchuk, Senior Lieutenant Roman Fedin, and Senior Lieutenant Vladislav Gryazin with the Medal for Combat Service.
