Iran and Russia Discuss Cooperation in the Fight Against Extremism and Terrorism

The Iranian Ambassador to Russia, Ghasem Jalali, and Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Oleg Syromolotov discussed the cooperation between the two countries in combating terrorism and extremism.

According to the Tasnim news agency, the diplomats held a meeting in Moscow on November 18. In a statement, the ambassador noted, "During the friendly meeting, we discussed Iran and Russia's cooperation in the fight against extremism and terrorism."

He emphasized that Tehran-Moscow relations are based on consultations regarding various regional and international issues.

"Iran believes that the only way to achieve peace and stability in the region and throughout the world is to respect international law and to fight against the threats of terrorism together," the Iranian official added.
