Video: Ashtarak Police Discover Assault Rifle and Ammunition

Officers of the Ashtarak Division of the Police, in collaboration with traffic police serving the Aragatsotn region, acted on operational data to inspect a vehicle, a "VAZ-2107," at a stationary checkpoint on the Yerevan-Ashtarak road. The car was being driven by a 21-year-old resident of Ashtarak.

In the vehicle's interior, a factory-numbered assault rifle was discovered, along with four loaded magazines containing 12 rounds of 5.45 mm caliber ammunition, empty magazines, a bulletproof vest, and a helmet. According to the driver, these items belonged to his brother. The weapons and ammunition have been confiscated.

The materials prepared by the Ashtarak Police have been forwarded to the Military Police.

We once again urge anyone in possession of illegal weapons and ammunition to voluntarily surrender them to the police to avoid criminal liability.
