The Process of Final Resolution of the Nagorno-Karabakh Issue is a Challenge for the Near Future: Levon Ter-Petrosyan

The first President of Armenia, Levon Ter-Petrosyan, has addressed the trilateral agreement between Russia, Armenia, and Azerbaijan, emphasizing that it has led to the end of the war, and that there will be no more casualties.

“The declaration by the Armenian National Congress has misled many in both the ruling forces and the fragmented radical opposition, suggesting that we support either side. Clearly, we are neither participants in nor supporters of the existing power struggle. What concerns us is solely the prevention of a civil war and the resolution of the current crisis exclusively through constitutional means, regardless of which of the confronting camps resolves the issue at hand. Of course, the most desirable option is the mutual agreement of both sides,” he stated.

Regarding the trilateral agreement that has led to the internal political confrontation, it should be understood as an established reality, at least appreciating the important fact that it has ended the war and that there will be no new casualties. The implementation of the agreement and the process of final resolution concerning the Nagorno-Karabakh issue is a challenge for the near future, which Armenia must prepare for with the utmost seriousness,” the first President remarked.
