My Son's Cannon Was One of the Few That Fired Until the Last Moment in Shushi: Andranik Kocharyan

Karnajarn is of course a very important link. We have arteries, one through Shushi and one through Karnajarn, and it would be very good if the road to Karnajarn were also under Russian control, said Andranik Kocharyan, a member of the National Assembly’s My Step faction, during a conversation with journalists.

“It is very important that the population of Artsakh does not leave Artsakh, but stays in their place, and we also add to their security component, even if through the Russians,” Kocharyan said, without specifying whether negotiations are ongoing around Karnajarn.

Referring to the topic of the fall of Shushi, the deputy said that his son, Vazgen Kocharyan’s cannon, was one of the few that fired until the last moment: “Were the battles going on or not? My son says that when everything was being held up. My child said, ‘Father, today we managed to fire this much, what about later?’ We do not come to terms with the loss because I have a biography. Can anyone come to terms with the fact that the statue of Vazgen Sargsyan will be left alone in Shushi? But to not come to terms with that, we need to keep the country strong,” the deputy said.
