For the First Time During a Speech on the Artsakh Issue, I Felt a Tremor Throughout My Body: Marukyan

Edmon Marukyan, the leader of the "Enlightened Armenia" parliamentary faction, wrote on his Facebook page: "For the first time during a speech on the Artsakh issue, I felt a tremor throughout my body... I just finished the meeting of the Monitoring Committee of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE). I was alone from our side; the representatives of the authority could not join.

In the meeting, naturally, there was a separate section dedicated to discussing the topic of the Artsakh war and the document signed a few days ago. It was very difficult to gather myself and once again speak about the rights of the people of Artsakh and, in general, the disaster occurring when we have signed such a disgraceful document.

The Azerbaijani representative spoke first; you can imagine what style and behavior they had. Such behavior has never been present on any international platform. Naturally, I gave a fundamental response to his speech, but what else could I do...? A tremor ran through my entire body from the fact that I represent the losing side and complain about humanitarian disaster, unjust world, terrorists, and it doesn't even matter what else...

In any case, we have lived through these days, but my conviction remains steadfast that we will be able to uphold the honor of the Armenian nation, defend all the rights of the people of Artsakh, and achieve a solution to this issue that is favorable to Armenia—on the ground, in international platforms, and in future agreements."
