Ishkhan Saghatelyan and Davit Hambardzumyan Arrested, Lawyer Says

Ishkhan Saghatelyan, Suren Surenyants, and Davit Hambardzumyan have been arrested. This was stated today, November 12, during a press conference by lawyer Tigran Atanesyan.

“They are being arrested under an article that entails a punishment of two months of detention. This means that a traitorous person has started to experience a psychosis, believing that he can hand over our homeland to his educated friend. All active political figures are being arrested to deprive the people, who are in the streets, of leadership. This is not merely political persecution; rather, it is a Turkish-Azerbaijani political persecution being carried out by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, the misfortune of our nation,” he stated.

He mentioned that Davit Hambardzumyan, the mayor of Masis, has been arrested under an article that does not imply imprisonment, with a maximum punishment of two months' detention.

Atanesyan emphasized that Hambardzumyan has a minor child, and yet he has been arrested under an article assigned to him, which is an unlawful act. He announced that they will appeal the decision regarding the arrest.
