The Functions of Russian Peacekeepers in Nagorno-Karabakh Still Need Clarification: Peskov

The functions of Russian peacekeepers in Nagorno-Karabakh, including the preservation of religious or cultural sites, still need to be clarified. This was reported by Dmitry Peskov, the spokesperson for the President of Russia.

“We are talking about the peacekeeping contingent. Naturally, the functions still need to be clarified since there is no clarity in the statement made by the three leaders,” he noted.

Peskov added that there have been no discussions about whether the peacekeepers arriving from Russia would protect cultural and religious sites in the region. He stated that he could not say whether this could be part of their obligations or not.
