Government Must Lift Martial Law; Primacy of the Freedom of Assembly Law and the Constitution, Says Arzvik Minasyan

The Deputy Chief of Police of Yerevan, Arthur Khudinyan, and the representative of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation (ARF), Arzvik Minasyan, engaged in a dialogue where Minasyan argued that the government should lift the martial law, emphasizing that the priority is the law on the freedom of assembly and the Constitution. However, he was interrupted with calls to avoid delving into legal issues.

“You are forcing a clash to happen,” he stated, but the Deputy Chief of Police disagreed with him. Minasyan appealed, asserting that this is a peaceful gathering and it is essential for everyone to attend.

The police continue to detain citizens, but to evade this, citizens formed a chain. However, the police, equipped with shields and protective helmets, did not allow this, and special units of the National Security Service were also present in the square.
