Araik Harutyunyan Just Called Me, Saying We Aren't Giving Dadivank to the Turks: Father Hovhannes

‘We are not giving Dadivank to the Turks,’ said Hovhannes, the priest of Dadivank, in an interview with Aysor.am. ‘The President of the Republic of Artsakh, Araik Harutyunyan, just called me and said: Do not touch Dadivank, do not touch the crosses, we are not giving Dadivank.’

When asked how they will maintain Dadivank, Father Hovhannes did not go into detail. He only emphasized that God is primarily responsible for its preservation. ‘I was expecting a miracle, that something would happen, some miracle would occur because my heart was aching, thinking about moving those cross-stones that our ancestors crafted and placed here 800 years ago. Can you imagine how long that is? How could I lay hands on those cross-stones? I was even afraid of facing punishment if I removed them from Dadivank. For two days, I have been saying that I am afraid, I do not want to and I am waiting for a miracle,’ concluded the priest.
