We Demand the Resignation of the President of Artsakh: Statement from the Political Parties of the NA of Artsakh

The political powers of the Republic of Artsakh have issued a statement, urging the political authorities of the Republic of Armenia, during these critical days for our people, to immediately cease any actions that undermine the unity of the people and refrain from seeking internal enemies within the country in order to maintain their power and shift the blame elsewhere.

The statement reads: "Dear Armenian people, the latest large-scale war initiated by Azerbaijan against the Republic of Artsakh since September 27, 2020, has escalated dramatically in recent days, with the open and active involvement of Turkey and other states and groups associated with terrorist organizations. Heavy fighting has been ongoing along the entire border between Artsakh and Azerbaijan for 45 days. Unfortunately, the current political authorities of the Republic of Artsakh and the Republic of Armenia, who are primarily responsible for the security and protection of our people, have been unable to consolidate the national potential during this crisis and failed to fully leverage political and diplomatic options that could have reduced or prevented the looming disaster.

The provisions of the trilateral statement published in the media last night seriously threaten the principles of the state independence and territorial integrity of the Republic of Artsakh.

Given the urgent nature of the current situation, we propose and demand the following: - From the political authorities of the Republic of Armenia, to immediately cease any actions that disrupt the unity of the people during these critical days for our nation and refrain from searching for internal enemies in the country; - The resignation of the President of the Republic of Artsakh, followed by the establishment of effective and adequate crisis management bodies that must have the relevant powers to consolidate national potential and make decisions to exit the current situation with dignity.

We express our support for the 17 political forces of the Republic of Armenia demanding the resignation of the Prime Minister, considering that this process may mark the beginning of new opportunities.

Dear sisters and brothers, bowing before the memory of those who have heroically fallen in defense of the homeland during these days, and sharing in the deep sorrow of their families, wishing a speedy recovery to all the wounded, we highly value the selfless dedication of the Armenian army, volunteers, and territorial defense forces in the work of defending the homeland in this wartime situation. We call upon all citizens of the two Armenian republics and the Armenian diaspora not to despair and to make the defense of the homeland the main imperative of the day.
